I uploaded my nikon to photoshop once or twice and now i can't connect my nikon to the programs on my PC without photoshop! I changed the program to every program and i made it worse. I tried to format the card already and it won't work. What can i do?

Sounds like you're shooting in RAW. While RAW will give you more dynamic range and much more control in post-production, this format can't be read by most computer programs. If you use the camera's menu and switch it to shoot in JPG, then you'll have no problem accessing your digital files in Photoshop, or with any other viewer on your computer.

For nearly a decade, users of dSLR cameras have been removing the memory cards from the camera and using card readers and the computers file manager to copy all the image files from the memory cards. You should do the same.

If you use the format feature on your D70, there should be no problem. Do not format the card until you are sure that all the images are safely on the computer

If I'm understanding this correctly, It's not your card… It's your computer settings. You changed the default program for opening up your camera images.

Find one of the files that you uploaded and opens with Photoshop (that you don't want to open with photoshop anymore) … Then right click on it. Choose "open with… " and "choose default program… ". They will recommend some software to choose from, but if it's not the one you want, you can go to "browse… " and choose a program that you want (well, one that works with that format anyway).

Check to make sure "always use the selected program… " is checked once you have it all set. If you find out you messed up, it's no big deal… Just go in and change it again the same way.
