I'm considering a Nikon d7000?
Pros and Cons? Would you recommend it? Opinions? Etc…
It costs close to $2000.
No DSLR is a magic wand that give you super professional pictures.
If you don't understand photography, you will have a $2000 cell phone camera.
If you are a supa' star, that's $1000 you take away from your lens budget. There's no point in having a $2000 camera and $40 lens. Like wrapping Caviar in bacon.
Nikon D7000 is the best dslr out right now. It beats canon's 5000 dollar professional dlsrs in high iso performance.
It really is the best, and for how much it costs it's an amazing deal.
The Nikon D7000, Pentax K5, and Canon 7D are the three best non Full Frame DSLR available now. If your budget can afford it, I definitely recommend it. The only issue is the additional expense in purchasing some high end Nikkors to go with it. If budget is an issue, I will always choose lenses over camera bodies.
