I have a nikon d3100 and a macbook, how do i upload the photos to my laptop?

Take the card out and put it in

Remove the SD/SDHC card from your camera and insert it in the MacBook's card read

1) Copy, to NOT move the image files using the file manager, Finder
2) Once the image files are safely on the hard drive in a file folder you have named to remind you of what is in it.
3) Once all the image files are safely on the computers hard dive, format the card using ONLY the format feature on the camera. The Mac initialization can destroy your card
