I dropped my Nikon D90 and i'm not able to take a picture?
When i do take a picture the top screen flashes "ERR R07". Everything else seems to be working just fine and i can still access the moniter. What would you recommend to be the most effecient and least time consuming fix
Send it in to Nikon to get fixed
next time use the supplied neck strap to prevent unwanted dropping
It's prevention you want - the neck strap.
You'll have to send it to Nikon. They'll charge you for the fix, could be a few hundred but they can probably fix it if it's not totaled. If it is totaled - another camera is the only solution. If they can fix it…
Next time, use your neck strap. My cameras are never even out of the bag until the strap is around my neck… Way too many horror stories like yours.
Call Nikon
Any ERR message shows a Camera Malfunction. It has to be corrected by Nikon
As mentioned, use the supplied neckstrap
If you have a different lens, try that. Some report that R07 comes up with broken lenses.
You can even try taking a shot without the lens in manual mode. You'll get a blurry image, but if it takes a shot, this could further suggest the lens is causing the error.
