I currently have a nikon d80 and I'm looking to get a new camera?
I do photography on the side and need a little better camera? What should I look at? I don't want to spend over 2000
The D90 or D7000 would be a good choice.
There will be a new Nikon D7100 coming out in the first quarter of this year. It will be a huge technical advancement, well worth the wait and will not cost you $2, 000.In addition, all your existing lenses can be used with it.
Nikon D7000 or D600 (or D5200 or D7100 when they come out)
Canon 7D or 5D mark II ( not the Mark! II)
Pentax K5 II S
Fuji X-e1
Olympus OMD
The Nikon D600 is probably the best of the lot but is right at $1999.99
A Canon 5D mark II can be had for a nice price these days but is still pricey I think.
The best value is probably the Pentax K5 or Nikon D7000
The Fuji and Olympus are excellent but niche cameras and may not serve your purposes.
