I'm wanting to upgrade my camera from a Nikon D40x.any suggestions?
I own the Nikon D40x and I'm wanting to upgrade to a different camera. There are so many Nikon's to choose from! If I have the Nikon D40x what would be a good camera to upgrade to. Prices and any information would be very helpful!
If your D40x is in full working order, there's no reason to 'Upgrade.' Professionals buy new cameras when the old ones wear out.
If you want Live View and video, either the D3100 or D3200 will suit, but if you don't need either, stick with this thoroughly nice machine.
The D40 is a decent camera. Have you considered another lens? You can shoot magazine quality photos with the D40 if you know how to use it.
New, maybe the Nikon D3100 or D5100.
If you're going to upgrade, check out the 5100. I went from a D40 to the D5100 and the 5100 has much better low light noise control as well as some other nice features.
The latest incarnation of the D40x is the D3200. If you have the old lens, simply get "Body only" to save a few bucks you can use to buy a 50mm f/1.8.
