I'm 14 and I'm really into photography, at the moment I'm using My HTC Desire Z's 5 mega pixel Camera and a Panasonic Lumix Fz20. I'm looking to get a slightly better camera. I'm looking at getting a Fuji Finepix S9000/ S 9500. What are your opp ions on that camera. Please don't say get a Nikon D60 or some thing like that because i really can't afford it

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 seems pretty sound.
tisn't the latest lumix but it's a bridge camer has good reviews and isn't too expensive:

Or:
Sony DSC HX1

I would say stay away from Bridge cameras, they are basically a 'point and shoot' with a wide range zoom on them, which has it's own problems. They are basically 'bright day' cameras, a soon as the light is less than ideal they run into IQ problems, they still have the 'point and shoot' shutter lag, so action shots are difficult.

For a similar amount of money you really are better off getting a DSLR, even one that is a few generations old. They can expand in any direction you want, little by little as your knowledge and experience grows. You can use them on auto, or, with knowledge, you can better the image quality in any light. You do have to learn how to use them to get the best out of them, but they are far more capable of giving you their best and are good to learn with.

If you are serious about photography you will need a DSLR, just because bridge cameras look like a DSLR doesn't mean they are in a lot of ways they are worse than lesser 'point and shoots'.

I would not follow the suggestion from the first answerer.
to the second answer above, I would add the following website for your perusal:

My suggestion for a camera would be a Nikon D3100. Good little starter camera, and a neat little kit lens. Cheers!
