How to turn on the flash on a nikon d60?

I want to take pictures of hummingbirds but their iridescent feathers don't show up unless a flash is used. How can I turn on the flash on a nikon d60 so it will flash even in daylight?

Have you looked in your user manual?
You can manually open your cameras on-board flash following the instructions in the manual.
Make sure that your shutter speed is set to 1/200th second so the flash will sync with your camera.

Have you checked your Owners Manual Yet? The Owners Manual covers so much Camera Basic including on How to Turn on The Flash.
