How to take light streak photographs with a Nikon D3100?
Okay, say I want to take a picture of a street at night, but I want those streaks of light from the cars' headlights/tail lights… OR write my name with a flashlight or whatever. How would I do that? I know it has to do with shutter speed, but how do I make it faster/slower? The manuel doesn't really help:/
The shutter speed needs to be as slow as possible. Because it wil take longer, to capture the picture, and then, the light will have moved before the picture is fully there.
hope this helps!
Do some reading on the subject of "time exposure".It will tell you all you need to know.
Leave it on a really long shutter speed.
Get your self a wirless remote then set the camera to manual mode, then the shutter speed to bulb.
Stick it on a tripod at night and EXPERIMENT.
Like I did, here.
