How to take a bokeh shot without a subject?

Nikon d5000, what settings?

Bokeh is the out of focus area. Put your camera on manual focus and make everything out of focus… Not really rocket science.

Turn on manual focus, focus to closest focus setting, set aperture to to largest available (5.6 on an 18-55 @55mm), set your exposure and take the picture.

Set to manual focus and de focus to get the bokeh

Make your lens on MANUAL FOCUS MODE then click the place without the subject… And you are done!
Hope this helps you, Never stop clicking!
