My computer got stolen and now i have lost some pictures and want to retrieve them. I have tried wondershare photo recover but i can't seem to get the pictures that I want.

Very slim chance of getting them back once they have been overwritten without a professional recovery system and even then there's no guarantee.

Once overwritten recovery is not possible.

However, some data recovery specialists can apparently detect what was previously written to disks by checking the value of the stored data. Whilst data is stored as 1's and 0's, electronically it's can be less than 1 and more than 0, they can apparently detect this.

Regardless, this would not be financially viable, it would be cheaper to get re-married than to use data recovery to get back wedding photos. If you get my point.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

All that happens to an image that is deleted from a memory card is that the file headers are removed and the space the image takes up is marked as being available for use. Until an image has been overwritten it can still be recovered, but once over written it is irrecoverable.

One of the other posters suggested it may be possible to recover overwritten images on a memory card - it is not. On a hard disk it is possible - sometimes, by oversampling the disk surface and looking for differences in head positions during differing read phases, but this technique does not work for electronic storage, well not unless you are watching CSI.

Recommend that you try the freeware PhotoRec. If PhotoRec doesn't do it, doubt anything else will:
