How to remove the Neck Strap from a nikon D60 camera?
I want to remove the neck strap from my nikon D60 camera because i want to clean it, the only problem is i don't know how?!
They aren't meant to be removed, but you could always gently tease apart one of the D-rings and gradually work it loose. Not that I'd recommend such a procedure, but you did ask.
This may sound strange but if you'll look in the Owner's Manual for your camera you'll probably find instructions on how to install the neck strap. Just reverse the process to remove it. If you've lost the Manual you can download it here: http://www.nikonusa.com/...D60_en.pdf
If all else fails, take it to a real camera shop ans ask them to help you.
If it is the original strap that came with the camera, just follow the path of the webbing around the buckle.
Better yet - remove the strap and throw it out. Just cut it off if you can't figure how to remove it. Then buy a more comfortable 3rd party strap - those manufacturers straps are very uncomfortable.
And better than that - buy a Black Rapid sling strap for the most comfort and utility. Believe me, if you have any heavy lenses, the Black Rapid is far superior to a camera neck strap, and even though they are a bit pricey, they are worth it for your neck comfort.
Here are a couple of the more comfortable neck straps:

And of course, the Black Rapid sling strap:
With a 42" bolt cutter.
Does it really look that intimidating to you?
Hey i'm not sure how, but i was looking to buy a Nikon D60 and was wondering what you thought of it?
