How to adjust the video time length in my dslr?
My dslr which is a Nikon D3100 video time length used to be up to ten minutes then it will automatically stop. Now its time length is only up to 1:40 mins only. How can i change it atleast back to ten minutes? Help. I dint adjust any settings then it went down to 1:40 mins.
The problem with using a dSLR as a video camera is that you have to use the live view feature.
While that feature is active, the CMOS starts to heat up. That heating will shut off the camera before you have recorded the maximum video file size of 4 gb or 17 minutes.

Shooting video with a DSLR generates heat in the sensor electronics. When that heat reaches a pre-determined level, the camera will shut off. If you want to be able to shoot for a longer period, keep the camera turned off before shooting your video, as this will reduce the initial heat level.
