Ideas on choosing a DSLR camera?

I'm looking to get a dslr camera. It would be something i would be learning on but i'm looking to use with photoshop and my graphic design background. I don't care much about a movie mode and am not tied to just one brand. I've looked at the Canon rebel T2i & Nikon d5100 because they fall in a lower price range that i'm comfortable spending. I understand the higher price the better quality, but i'm sure there are great $600-$700 cameras. Thanks!
Any tough ts, ideas or past history with either Camera would be helpful

Canon sensors are better at skin tone reproduction and have a better selection of lenses, save your money for the Canon Rebel T4i it's digic 5 processing chip is Way better at low light.

Another reason to buy Canon is because if you wanted you could always use nikon lenes (manual focus with an adapter) but on a Nikon you can't use Canon's amazing glass.

Save your money… T4i is the lowest Canon you should get…

I've been shooting with Nikon and Canon cameras for years… I prefer Canon.

Canon is coming out with a few more DSLRs this year and possibly a mirrorless as well (the mirrorless would have the sensor size of the G1X (which is a pretty cool little P&S.

I use both Nikon and Canon cameras and there's NO difference in how colour is recorded if you shoot in RAW and use a custom white balance tool like Xrite Colorchecker Passport. We always shoot a shot of the Passport with each brand and model camera we're using so that All the colour matches.

Here is how the sensors of the T2i and D5100 compare along with the new D3200.

It may be that the D3200 would be a better choice in the $700 price range

Canon T2i is covered your requirement. It has an 18 mega pixel sensor and takes great photos. It also has 1080 HD video, with a choice of frame rates. The video quality is superb, it looks great on my high definition TV. Please read more details about this DSLR camera in below source before making the decision.

Choose the T2i. Either way, go to this website and get the instructional DVD for your camera, This DVD will take you beyond the black and white words of the book and will "show" you how to use each functions to the best ability. Reading the owners manual is good but watching someone show you is usually a better way to learn.
