Give me your opinion on my Photography?
I reall like Photography. I started taking pictures about a year ago. & I've never stopped & don't plan on it. I don't consider myseld one of those "kids" or "teens" that just take random pictures of the grass & the sky & call it "Photography".Im not saying I'm just awesome or anything. I deffinetlly consider myself a amateur, at the most. I really love it though. I take everything I have with a Nikon D3000. This is my Flickr Photostream & Id appreciate it if you gave me your honest opnions. Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. Tell me what you think. So thank you guys!
I was amazed before I even started scrolling down! You definitely have a talent!
I definitely think you should stick with your passion, and maybe even take a few classes in the future to improve them (not that they're bad at all, but you can discover a lot more about photography with some classes)
And if you don't already have any extra lenses, definitely save up for one (50mm lenses are simply amazing! Small, lightweight, and you get an amazingly shallow depth of field)
But overall, your photos are very great! C
Sorry, but it is just a little dull. Flowers and pets don't amaze most people. If you're having fun, that's great. But if you want to make an impact even to yourself, you've got to do something more than your own backyard. "The Familiar" as Sally Mann puts it is just fine. But do something more artistically substantial. Why should we see your dog? Is he a graceful, loving animal? If so, show that. Find a way to let us see how graceful and loving he is in a still frame.
Get the camera out of auto mode.
I personally don't like your over saturated style. Hurts my eyes.
A lot of these fail the 2d test. You see something that impresses you and you take a picture. Somehow you're not quite getting what you set out to show. Next time close one eye and see if it's still interesting
Experiments are nice but do you want them on flickr? For example.
would have been stunning if you'd shot it with your nikon and used spot metering on the boy.
You know how to use light to your advantage, I also like your attention to detail. Keep up the great work!
I have news for you. You are one of those kids who take photos of random stuff.
Your exposure is poor and your compositions are boring.
Actually, that's what 'kids' and 'teens' typically shoot: flowers, trees, grass, pets, and especially the odd portrait with the weird cropping. If you've been here long enough, that's what you'll mostly see.
You might not consider yourself one of those teens, but your photos say otherwise. My one advice is to learn the basics: composition, lighting, exposure, etc. Avoid doing artsy, 'cool' stuff 'till you've sufficiently learned them.
Once you have a grasp of the fundamentals, your photography will almost surely improve.
Most photos are pretty interesting, and those who are not, I can understand what you wanted it to do…
Photo quality is good, although maybe no changing the size and rounding the edges of photos, and leaving them the original size. Here are a few photos that I will critique:
"something different, what do you think?" (Smoke rising from the ground)
I really like the whole idea, and the clarity of the some. If you took off the lens cap it would be better though.
"waterdrops" (Waterdrop)
It's interesting, has good photo quality, but I do not like how the edges are round. I prefer larger photos.
"paws" (Dog paws)
The saturation is too high, as no grass is that bright.Looks a bit fake. I like photos that look normal, but maybe a slight edit can be okay.
"flower." (Macro of red flower center)
I like the composition, and the colors. It's so bright and beautiful!
"Untitled" (Flower with ripped off petals)
I don't really like seeing the petals ripped off, but the angle is pretty good I guess.
"me." (Yourself)
I don't like the photo quality, as it's kind of blurry/out of focus. I don't like the angle either.
