Fisheye lens suggestions?

I have a Nikon d3100 and I really want a fisheye lens to make landscapes look more interesting and just to make photos more fun. The problem is I have no idea what lens to buy. Any suggestions?

1) if you want to blow away your friends, shoot three overlapping images and then merge them into a panoramic shot. Sample:

2) a fisheye is was never meant be used as a landscape lens. Here is what you would have to deal with if you used a fisheye lens. Far too much curvature to be a good landscape lens.

3) the least expensive fisheye lenses cost around $300 and good ones over $1, 500
