I'm buying my first dslr. I don't know anything about photography but reading some manuals and watching tutorials online i had some idea about it. I'm confuse if i'm going to buy d3100 d3000 or d5000. Are some of them going to be sale on december, is worth to spend up to £500 on my very first dslr? Which one am i gonna buy?

With a DSLR your buying into a system the least expensive high quality system is Pentax by far.

You could get the Pentax Kx

Or for just outside your budget the new Kr with it's new sensor which has the widest dynamic range and low noise capability of any entry level camera

Image stabilisation is built into the camera so any lens you fit is Image Stabilised, no extra cost for stabilisation, full backwards compatibility with any K mount lens made since 1973 (loads on eBay available cheaply) all will be image stabilised. All the functions you will ever need, with some entry level Nikon's you don't even get bracketing other functions are absent too, you have to buy the more expensive motorised lens to get auto focusing, and even more if you want image stabilisation.

I can recommend SRS (usual disclaimer - just a satisfied customer over many years) they are a genuine seller who know what they are talking about, not just 'box shifters'.

drop the D3000…
your good choice is just between the D5000 and D3100

The best asset of the D3100 is the video. However, ignore that auto-focus on the video.
when auto-focusing in video mode, you will have those squeaking…

scroll down to find the difference of the three… Specs side by side.
the difference is not really too much, especially between the D3100 and the D5000…

Your choice of Nikon is excellent. I would endorse the D3100, since it is the latest and greatest. All three are in your budget.

I have no reason to believe that any of these will go on sale in any foreseeable future. Buy now and start learning.
