Filming with Nikon D5100?
I'm going to be filming a lot with my Nikon D5100, but I have no idea how to and what tips and tricks to use. I don't know how to film and have it focus on things without it making the focusing noise and I don't know how to do a LOT of other things. Is there anyone who can help me out, or guide me to somewhere I can get help please?
Well first of all, you can't "film" with a digital camera. All you can do is shoot video
If you look in your user manual, it will tell you exactly how to shoot video in the various video options.
Sound is going to be a problem unless you can isolate the microphone from the camera itself.
There are some hot shoe mount microphones and others that are self contained and will require you to sync the sound during editing like the Zoom H4n

Do you have a good script? Do you know how to light your scenes? Do you have a good high speed computer, a lot of RAM and huge hard drive so you can use your video editing program to edit your final video?
What you need to know about using a still camera like a dSLR to shoot video using its video feature

Your D5100 is a digital camera so you can't "film" with it but you can make videos. So eliminate the word "film" from your vocabulary.
