Entry-level DSLR: Canon Rebel T3 or Nikon D3100?

I'm trying to decide what camera to buy for my first DSLR. My budget is ~$600 for a kit that includes a lens also. I've narrowed it down to the Canon Rebel T3 and the Nikon D3100. Any suggestions or feedback?

Both are excellent low tier entry level dSLR

If you are interested in shooting in low light, the D3100 may be your best choice.

However before you commit to one camera system or the other, visit a camera store and hold both in your hands and decide which fits you and your style of shooting the best
