Hi. I have a Nikon D3100 and I bought a IR 720 infrared filter. I try to make some IR photos, but the picture looks red (sunny day, 8sec exposed, ISO 400, 50mm, F8). I saw some photos, try to make with the same ISO setings and exposer time, but thei also looks red. What I should do?

Did you try different whitebalance settings?

Understand that IR photography may as well be called black and white photography, cause your not dealing with wavelengths that you normally see with, your just using the very bottom of the visible red and lower. There's no color like you think there might be. Since it's IR your still catching the bottom of the red and so your pictures are red. If I were you, I would desaturate the color out of them.

There are MANY websites that teach you about IR photography - Google is your friend in helping you find them.

Do some reading and you'll soon learn to take a photo of foliage/grass in the sun, then use that to set as your white balance.
You'll also learn about channel mixer and swapping red/blue channels.
