DSLR Camera: Sell Nikon D3100 for Canon T3i 18-35 kit?

So I've had my D3100 for about a year. Has not been droped once and no noticeable ware and tear from what I can see its working perfectly fine and i have the battery, charger, bag, with 55-200 and 18-55 lenses. Now I want the Canon T3i because my friend has one and its amazing… So my question is, should I sell it and save for a t3i with a 18-35 lense or keep my d3100?
Thanks

Added (1). He's not really better than me. But I did take his camera for a quick shooting and it seem like everything was alot easier to access like the button and controls and his cameras also seems to take better pics than my camera could. Even if we took the same pic with the same setting although he does have an 18-135 and I have a 55-200 so it could be the Lens but I kinda doubt it

There's no way in hell I would ever trade a Nikon for a Canon, ever!

What's the point? You get similar resolution and no great improvement in sensor technology. What makes the T3i so "amazing"? Better images come from getting to know your equipment and learning about photography, not switching brands.

I would say exactly the same to somebody thinking of switching from Canon to Nikon. It's not the equipment that makes "amazing" pictures. It is the photographer.

If you are not satisfied with your images you are producing with your D3100, changing camera brands will NOT help.

Here is how the sensors of the T31/600D and D3100 compare.

If you have money burning in your pocket, a better plan would be to buy the Nikon D3200

Don't be a clot - keep the Nikon and learn to use it properly.

The D3100 is actually a better camera, so it is more likely your friend is more skilled than you are.

Pick up Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Exposure" for great tips on how to improve your photo skills.

You also realize that the T3i has a 10% smaller sensor than the D3100, so the low light capability does suffer with the smaller sensor.

I completely agree that the Canon T3i is amazing and can produce OUTSTANDING photographs. However I'd bet good money that if you gave your current camera to your friend, he'd produce the same amazing results. (of course your lenses can help or hurt too)

***Edit***
Well if you actually prefer the feel, the controls, and the ergonomics of the canon, that actually WOULD be a valid reason to switch over. (Which is one reason why anyone credible will say to actually get your hands on any camera that you want to purchase.)

Switching brands is (obviously) NOT something to take lightly.
