Does the nikon d3100 take good pictures of people?

How's the picture quality on this camera for people? If you have sample photos of people please post!

You can take good pictures of ANYTHING with simply any camera. The quality of the photo doesn't depend on the camera, but on the quality of lens, composition, aperture, image quality, exposure, … A good camera with a bad photographer will produce bad photos.a bad camera with a good photographer will produce average/good photos. But yes the camera Nikon D3100 is a great camera.

It matters less on the camera, and more on how you set up the shot. Yes, it can take great pictures of people, but only if you are willing to learn how to correctly use your camera, meaning, how to correctly change ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to conform to what you want to shoot.

it also matters on the lens you choose. The kit 18-55 will do a decent job for a beginning photographer. For portraits, you might want to later get a 50mm f/1.8 or f/1.4.

Any camera can get good pictures of people or anything else for that matter. It all depends on the ability of the photographer. The camera is just a tool so viewing sample shots is useless.

Of course with the right set-up and settings, the D3100 is capable of shooting excellent quality photos. Remember lighting is key to shooting portraits.
