Does the Nikon D3100 record audio?

The reason why I'm asking this is because I want this camera really bad and I'm just wondering if it records audio.cause i know it records videos. But like people's comments on youtube are like, "WHY DOES IT NOT HAVE A MIC JACK AHH! EVERYTHING ELSE IS So PERFECT FOR WHAT I NEED EXCEPT FOR AUDIOOOOOO!" so i'm like.woahh.

i kinda sound like a dumbass for askin this question though ahah

It does record audio, but only with the built in mic. That's an issue because on those videos you can loudly hear the autofocus motor if it's being used, as well as noises during zooming.

Yes, but it's not the best quality all the time.
(My aunt has the camera, I don't, so maybe it's just her, lol.)

No, it does not record audio and neither does the D5000. The only DSLR's that have an external microphone jack in this price range are the T2i and T3i.
