Does my 3 year best buy camera warranty cover slight damage/accidents?
I bought a 3 year warranty along with my nikon d5100 at best buy, and the screen has an ugly scratch on it, and the live view switch sticks and when i turn my settings knob, sometimes the live view switch moves along with it, due to someone spilling soda on my camera. Does my warranty cover this?
There are different kinds of warranties, your best bet is to call them and ask them, or go to a Best Buy store and take your camera for service.
The answer is "no", as the Best Buy extended warranties (and BOY, do they push them on you) do not cover accidents or damage. All they do is extend protection if there's a defect in manufacturer design or construction.
In other words, it's a warranty, not accident insurance.
By the way, be ready for the new push to sell you a replacement camera from Worst Buy.
Warranties cover defects in manufacture, not carelessness of owner.
