Guys, still i have a Nikon D3000. Does 18-105mm VR Nikkor lens have macro Feature?
No. IT focusses to 45 centimter and does a 1:5 at that distance. Better start saving for a macro lens
Not really. It does allow close-focusing to 1.5' and gives you a reproduction ration of 1:4 which is 1/4 life size. A true macro lens (Nikon calls them micro) will give you a reproduction ratio of 1:1 which is life size.
If you photograph a 12mm long caterpillar with the 18-105mm lens it will be 3mm long on your sensor. Use a real macro/micro lens and it will be 12mm long on your sensor.
