Do they have a way to put these lenses on Nikon D60?
I bought a Nikon D60 yesterday because i really wanted a dslr. Before i bought it i had a Nikon Fg which is a film Slr and i have like 4 different lenses for it that are really great and i want to put them on my D60 so i tried and it fits and clicks into place but the camera won't recognize it because the D60 lenses have little metal sensors on them. Is there some sort of adapter to put my old lenses on it so they won't be useless?
Nope. Look up Ken Rockwell's Nikon Lens Compatibility chart.
You'll need an adapter, and only be able to use in manual focus…
No problem, the lenses will fit. You'll just have to learn how to manual focus and meter. Other than the fact you don't have anything to assist focusing, it shouldn't be much different than manual focusing your FG.
Here is the link that will help you figure out the answer to your question
You just have to put the camera into manual exposure mode to use those lenses - no adapter needed.
If your lenses are AI, and if you had a D7000, Nikon has returned to putting the AI feeler on the latest advanced DSLRs so that you would at least have Aperture Priority with a D7000.
But your D60 has no such AI feeler, so you will need to use manual exposure mode.
But no problem - that is the way we always used to do it.
Those lenses are not useless, but you will have to put a little effort into using manual exposure and manual focus to get good pics with them.
