D90 body vs d7000 kit (re ask)?

I'm sure there's another way to do this but I'm on my phone and having troubles.
My 1st post:
I'm buying either a nikon d90 body with a 85mm 1.4 lens or the d7000 with the kit lens. Main purpose will be portraits. I want the best image quality I can get so I'm leaning twords the d90, but that brand new d7000 makes me stop and think.
I ment 85mm 1.8 sorry. Big difference I know. Also I chose the 85 over the 50 after doing some reaserch. Long story short for exactly what I need it's just better.

Protrait photography is more about good glass and good lighting - the body between the D90 and the D7000 is almost immaterial. Get whichever you can afford.
I'd go for the cheaper body & spend the differnce on lights (off camera) - speedlights for portability.
I shoot with a D300, 50mm f1.8, and the 85mm f1.8 plus speedlights & radio triggers (RF602's);

The 85mm, even the simple, 1.8 is a fine portrait lens. Personally I'd add a general purpose lens to my list as well, even the humble 18-55 would be nice to have.
Good portraits is at least as much about light as about anything else. A couple of nikon speedlights with stands and umbrellas or some other form of studio lighting is, in my opinion, something you want sooner or later.
The main advantages of the d7000 are in video and high iso, both not all that relevant to what you want to do.
