Canon 1100D for beginner?

Is this suitable for beginners? If this one compare to compact camera, which one work well? How about Nikon 1? Should i start learning photography by with nikon 1 or 1100D?

but i really wnat to know, what is the disadvantage about Nikon 1100D or D3100? Can't shoot better? Or less mega pixel? Is the expensive camera is always better?

The nikon 1 is a point and shoot camera with a larger sensor and interchangeable lenses. It has no manual controls and you really can't learn photography on it. Look at the Nikon D3100 instead

either the 1100D or D3100, whichever you like better.
at this point, as a novice, the difference in performance is negligible. Megapixels don't matter unless you know you will need them for a certain project. They do not determine quality, only size.

generally, the more expensive the camera, the better (but they have to be of the same generation).
