Can I use this shutter cable release to take star trail photos?

Yo, people. I've been wanting to buy a cable release for my Nikon D70 and I found a good one that works with it. So if I buy it, would it be able to take 15-30+ minute star trail photos? I know how to take them, I just don't have a cable release.

Thanks.

Cheers

I don't have my d70 manual to hand, it's in my bag, but it should work fine.

p.s. Make sure you have a fully charged battery, especially if working in cooler temps. And remember to use the long exposure anti-noise capped exposure to subtract the hot pixels.

Should work, but you'll have to keep it held for a long time. Might be better to remotely trigger "bulb," I think D70 should have the bulb feature. That way you could leave the aperture open for hours if you want -- all night! Then you'd get star streaks all across the sky.

Yes, it will work. I have that remote and use it with my D50. Works like a charm on bulb settings. Just press the button to open the shutter and press it again to close it. Has great range and works with pretty extreme angles, too.
