I got my new Nikon D3100… I want to photoshoot my two beautiful friends… I only got the beginner lens and that's 18-55m… I will try my best to find a good posture and angle of the shot… But i hope you can help me out here by giving me some pictures that is being shot with 18-55m lens I tried to google this situation but it doesn't show me the result that i want
Everything in this Flickr group (over 7, 500 images) is shot with the kit lens;
The best way to shoot portraits with it is to use it at the 55mm focal length (less distortion) and then you back up/move in to frame the subject how you want. If you want a shallow depth of field, use it wide open (f5.6) and be as close to the subject as possible, with the background far away.
First off, the 18-55mm is NOT a " beginner " lens! I suggest you go to youtube and type in " Nikon 18-55mm VR lens ". They have a few videos on this lens.
Why are you hung up on seeing pictures from this fine lens, that other people took. It is a great lens, you have one! Get off the couch and got out and take photos with it!
PS: not a beginner lens, just because it came with camera. We know who the beginner is! Go out and have fun with the camera.
