I'm getting a nikon camera d5000 for a friend of mine from over seas so i really want to know the exact weight with the lens and the batter installed so i don't have any issues in the air port.
i checked the nikon website and they only had the body weight.
the lens i'm getting is the default one 15-88 mm

Not that it matters… You should carry the camera in your hand luggage and that never gets weighed.

Here's two things you should consider:

The warranty is useless abroad so test everything before you leave.

And bring the packaging and receipt. Preferably even leave the warranty card sticking out of your back pocket. This way, even if you forget to declare the camera at your destination airport, it'll be glaringly obvious to any customs officer that you're not simply bringing along your own camera. It'll remind them to detain you while you pay the obligatory hefty import tax.

I'm seeing a total shipping weight of 6 lbs. From Amazon.com and 5.55 lbs. From Walmart.com.

Just a word of warning - any Nikon camera that you order from overseas will not be covered by Nikon USA in or out of warranty. Since it is considered a "gray market" camera, Nikon won't repair it, even if you pay for the service.

By the way, the default lens is an 18-55mm, not a 15-88mm.
