Best tripod for price (DSLR)?

I recently purchased the Nikon D90, and am now looking for a strong, sturdy tripod. It would be helpful if the prices are kept around $50.

For supporting a body and small lens any $50 tripod will do just fine. If you want to put a gimbal head on a 600mm lens, then the type of tripod will be a point of discussion. But for just slow shutter speeds or controlled composition with a basic lens, any tripod package will work.

I hate to say it, but I've seen good stuff from Vivitar. Don't go too cheap. I had a $20 tripod where the legs just fell out the second day.
