Best Nikon lens for bokeh? - 1
Right now I have an 18-55mm zoom lens. I'm looking for a lens with more zoom, probably some where up to 200-300mm. But I was wondering what type of lens I could buy that would offer the best bokeh, with a good focal length also. (I have a Nikon D5000 by the way)
The best so called "Bokeh" is usually associated with fast, prime lenses like a AF-S 50 mm f/1.4 and AF-S 85 mm f/1.4 and has to do with the lenses design.
The 55-200 mm or 55-300 mm lenses are great for shooting action, sports and some wildlife.
What you may want to know before you ask again about "Bokeh"
This is what it is.

This is how various lenses Bokeh appear.
If you want awesome bokeh effects for only $25, I recommend using this kit. It will create very specialized bokeh effects, but if you just want traditional out of focus background you can use what others have said.
Here's the kit, look at the examples to see what I mean by specialized bokeh effects.
