Best entry level DSLR that records 1080p?

So i'm a keen photographer. Less that a year ago i bought a digital camera that looks like a DSLR which films in 1080p. My parents talked me out of a dslr because i couldn't film with ones in my price range.
Now, with jobs coming thick and fast, i have found that the Nikon D3100 seems to have everything i'm looking for in a mid range camera which is what i'm looking for.
Would this be a good camera to go for? Are they're any similar models?
my budget is yet to exist, but i can say no more than £600.plus i don't want to be in need of a new lense not long after my purchase.

The Nikon D3100 is an entry level DSLR, but will meet the needs of most people. May I suggest you up your budget to £680 and get the Nikon D90. I bought mine two years ago with the 18-105mm kit lens and needed nothing else, until I got curious and started buying some other lenses, such as the 35mm f/1.8.
