Best entry level Digital SLR?

I'm looking to buy a D SLR soon, and need a little help. I originally wanted a Nikon D3000 but upon looking I'm trying to find something a little cheaper since I'm really low on money. I'm not against buying a refurbished model. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm currently interested in a refurbished sony alpha a230, http://store.sony.com/...1665879082. Comments on this model or something else that I should consider?

If money is your concern then check your pocket and looking for a fitting price. Canon or Nikon is not much different, for entry level. Sony is for amateur that just like to have a picture as memory of the time.

These folks often have refurbished gear as well as Amazon so check with both.

I only recommend what I own and therefore know - Canon. Any of the Rebel line will be a fine camera depending on your budget. New you'll need at least $600 - refurbished you might find one for around $450 or so.
