Are these lens' compatible with my Nikon D50 camera please?
I currently have an AF-S lens on my Nikon D50 and I'm not sure if I'm only able to get AF-S lens' or if I can get others too.
I'm looking at getting one of the following -
Nikon Nikkor AF 80-200mm f4.5-5.6 lens - http://www.ebay.co.uk/...0770772719
Nikon 80-200mm f4.5-5.6 AFD - http://www.ebay.co.uk/...0751512116
Does anyone know if these are compatible with my camera and if they are any good?
The D50 was introduced before Nikon removed the body motors from their entry-level DSLRs, so both lenses are fully compatible.
Your instruction manual is your friend here (it often is) as it will explain the differences and how to set your camera to deal with them (it won't mention AF-S because they hadn't been developed when this camera was released).
If you don't have a manual, download one from Nikon - and buy your lenses from a reputable dealer who's willing to provide a warranty - not someone disposing of their rubbish on ebay.
Yes, they will work fine.
They're not the greatest lenses Nikon has ever made, but they're built much better than newer entry-level lenses.
If you think you'll need VR, buy a 55-200 VR.
