Are there any good nikon zoom lenses with wide aperture openings for about $300?

I have a nikon D3100 and a standard zoom lens with an f5 aperture, so I can't take good pictures in low light, so I need a new one. Can anyone help me out?

Actually you can take good photos in low light. You need to raise the ISO of the sensor and take care of any noise in post.
Here is a list of all the current Nikkor lenses

There are actually very few lenses (Nikkor or other brands) that cost less than $300, none that are "fast"
My guess is that you have yet to take a class in even the basics of photography
- Are there any Nikon lenses that DON'T use mechanical aperture coupling?
- Any lower-priced fixed aperture Sony E-mount zoom lenses? (under $500 US)?
- Do wide angle (Nikon) lenses offer a significant benefit over compact zoom lenses?
- I'm planning to buy 70-300 AF Nikkor lens, is it still a good buy than buying 70-300 AF S?
- Suggest me a decent Tele-zoom lens and a wide-zoom lens?
