Are the lens of Nikon D5000 and D7000 same?
I own the camera, Nikon D5000 and I have been planning to upgrade my Camera body.
So before going to the market I needed to know if the lens of both D5000 and D7000 the same?
If it works on the D5000, it will work on the D7000.
If you are buying a DSLR of the same lens mount, most professionals do not duplicate the lens that normally comes with the camera. To save funds (money), many professionals will just purchase the camera body.
Lenses on a DSLR are not camera-specific. They are interchangeable between cameras, but there are a few issues with certain legacy lenses on Nikon's entry level cameras (D3xxx and D5xxx). But those issues disappear when you upgrade to a D7000.
The D7000 kit comes with an upgraded 18-105mm lens, while the D5000 kit lens is a 18-55mm lens. But you can use the lens that came with the D5000 on the D7000 without any problem.
If it works on the D5000, it will work on the D7000.
