50mm f/1.8 prime lens WITH auto focus for Nikon D3000?
I'm looking for a 50mm prime lens with f/1.8 for my nikon D3000 that is capable of automatic foucus. Is there one? Or i have to get the 35mm one?
You have read your camera's instruction manual right? Well, maybe you just missed the part in the manual that says only AF-S lenses will auto focus with your camera. And since I'm sure you already know that, it should be a pretty easy thing for you to go to the Nikon website and look at the AF-S 50mm f/1.8 lens…
Yes, that would be the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF-S for $220: http://www.nikonusa.com/...s.Overview
Nikon makes 2 different 50mm f/1.8 lenses. The older AF 50mm, and the newer AF-S 50mm.
AF-S simply means the focus motor is in the lens, which is what your camera needs to autofocus.AF means the camera must supply the focus motor.
Your D3000 will not autofocus with the AF version, but will autofocus fine with the AF-S version.
So you just have to buy the AF-S 50mm lens, which is the more expensive of the two.
