I'm really looking into investing in a dslr. I'm basically going to use it for a fashion blog, youtube videos and photography in general. I want something that could be use for daily life, but also for concerts, dance performances, traveling, fashion photography, school, parties, walking down the street, and recording etc. I will be taking photograhy classes to so i need a camera that will sustain in those classes deffinetly. My price range is between $750 and $850, but i won't be purchasing until December. I need opinions on brands such as Nikon and Canon (which one is better) and also explanations as to why your camera choice is better.

Canon is better but I'm only saying that because I've been a Canon man for many years. Nevertheless, a very practical option could be for you to hunt for clearance Canon Rebel T1s, which can take HD video but are considered obsolete by now, the price may just fall within your range.

I agree with the answer above me, Canon T1i's are great and very cheap now, I had one for about three years and loved it! However, you will not be able to take it in to a lot of concerts because they will consider it "professional" and many venues have rules restricting photography. For concerts, a good point and shoot with a whole lot of zoom is best!
Hope this helped!

Canon vs nikon is a moot debate no matter what anyone tells you. Grab whatever feels good in tyour hand. If you have friends who have one brand, it might be worth investng in the same so you can borrow their lenses/flashes…

Tour requierments are a camera that does video… Since it's for a blog, you'll want one with an audio jack so you can use a decent external mic.

I'll talk Canon cause that's what i know but you'll find the equivalent in Nikon as well.

I'd normally recommend a 7D but it's a fair bit out of your budget. If video is truly important to you, the 7D or 5D Mk II is what you want… You could make due with a T2i or T3i but not the T1i… I own the T1i and the video is severely crippled on it… No control, no external micrphone jack…
