This is what's known as an EVIL camera - Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lenses. What that actually means is these cameras are simply way over priced, over rated pocket toy point and shoot cameras that don't have a real view finder - ugh!

For this money you can get a real camera, a dslr.

ETA - I was actually making fun of the question not the camera. Why would you ask if a camera takes pictures? It's a camera duh.

It does both and very well for a camera you can carry in your briefcase or purse
