Can you do bokeh with a Nikon 1 J1?
I have the Nikon 1 J1 camera and I want to capture bokeh with it. Unfortunately I only have the 10-30mm lens, and I'm wondering if it's possible to do so because I researched that you need at least a 55mm lens to capture bokeh.
You can do bokeh. Put it in aperture priority, set your aperture wide open, zoom to 30mm, get as close to your subject as you can, focus on the subject, shoot. Admire the bokeh.
No. Bokeh is the quality of the out of focus part of your photo. It describes the out of focus area, therefore you can't do Bokeh.
The lens is a bit short for out-of-focus/bokeh. You probably can with the 30-110mm lens, but not the 10-30mm lens.
