Hello--I'm a photographer and I currently do not have access to the software ( photoshop c6 or better) so I want to know if I could convert a camera raw file to a jpeg file right on the camera itself --a canon 5 d mark 3-?

Yes, in Nikon has a Retouch Menu on it and there's a feature which lets the photographer process RAW image files using the camera if they forgot to shoot in RAW + JPEG.

Look on page 282 of your user manual for the answer

NOTE: RAW image files must be processed, NOT converted. It is in the processing that refinements are made in the final image which is saved as either a JPEG or TIFF file Read the manual. Although I have no experience with Canon cameras, I would think that you could. I know that my Nikons can, even though I've never used that feature. You should have gotten Canon's Digital Photo Professional program with your camera. You can convert your raws to jpegs with it. If you bought the camera second hand and don't have the DVD that comes with it, you should be able to download it from Canon's web site: https://www.usa.canon.com/...canon.com/" class='ext_link'>https://www.usa.canon.com/...canon.com/
