It depends.
Is it a Nikkor AF-S lens? If so, yes you can.
You will remove the 18-55 mm lens and place the 70-300 mm on the camera body

If it's Nikon brand and/or specifically stated compatible, then yes. Otherwise, you need an adapter. The manufacturer should also produce adapters if they make lenses.

You can use 70-300mm lens on D5200. You have to remove the 18-55mm lens first.
