Can i bring my Canon EOS 1000D to a concert?
The venue says this: You may bring: Portable Camera (non-pro). No professional cameras (cameras with detachable lens are usually in this category).
Is my camera a part of this category? Because i have seen people bring my camera to other concerts before and they were fine. The Concert is at Nikon Theater. And i don't have another camera.
SLR cameras like yours are included in in the "professional" range. Professionals use them. Also, it's not a smart idea to take it with you because it's your only camera, it's big, and it's fragile. I think you should go buy a disposable camera and bring it to the venue. Unless you hide it really well, they could even confiscate your camera. Also, the venue probably doesn't want to be responsible if you happen to break or damage your expensive camera at the venue.
First of all, you answered your own question.
"No professional cameras (cameras with detachable lens are usually in this category)"
If you look real hard, you will see that your camera has a detachable lens. Under that definition, you can't take your camera with your into the concert.
Your cell phone or any P&S camera may be carried into the concert with you, however
No.
The burly guys at the gate will confiscate your camera.
