Can all DSLRs use manual lenses?
I inherited a bunch of lenses from my older brother from his old Nikon FE-10 but I was thinking of buying a digital SLR camera. Should I just sell these or could I use these with any DSLR?
You can use all the lenses from his FE-10 on all current Nikon DSLR cameras
it would be stupid if you sold them to go with another system
With some caveats (it depends highly on the model of the lens), most Nikon manual lenses can be used on current DSLRs.
You might find these difficult to use on lower tier models like the D40, as there are no focusing aids (these are normally built into the viewfinder on older cameras). Some newer models can tell you if a certain target point is in focus using its built-in AF system.
DSLRs lack the split screen and/or microprism aids, but some places offer replacement screens for sale.
