Camera help! (Buying)?

I'm in the market for a good camera. I have like $900.00 to spend and I don't know where to look. My friend said about one million things and then said a nikon would be good. I'm no photographer, but I'm in the market for a nice one that I could use to make stuff for YouTube. I want one that has really good HD movie making capabilities and has good zoom as well as as good of photo taking as a $900 dollar camera can get. I don't know about the other accessories you can get. I have more money that I can spend on other stuff. Like if I needed a case or a tripod or if I'm going to have to buy all that stuff you usually get with a $900 camera. Please help me out and I will be happy. I have like $1'800.00 that I got for my graduation and I can't spend more than $900 on the camera. What should I do and where should I go? Online that is? Please make sure that a place you tell me to go is a good place. If I think it doesn't sound safe than I can't look. I can't afford a problem with my dad's pc.

DSLR cameras don't have zoom. Zoom depends on the lens you choose to work with. Some lenses have quite a bit of zoom, and many others have no zoom what so ever.

take a look at the Nikon D3100, D3200, D5100, Canon Rebel T3, T2i, T3i, and Pentax K30

I suggest the D3100 or T3 or T2i and then spend some extra money on a second lens if you want more reach.

Go with a canon 550D kit.cheers.
