Best scope for shooting up to 600 yards?
Just bought a new 25-06 and looking for a scope to put on it. I would like to shoot 0-600 yards as I plan on coyote hunting and the shots are often long. I have looked at a vortex diamondback and a Nikon back master. I'm not sure if they are quite enough scope for 600 yards… Any thoughts or suggestions? My price range probably tops at $250
Nice scopes with low prices are found at gun shows, pawn shops, or trusted individuals. Never new, unless an unpopular model is put up for a clearance sale. Scopes do not hold a high resale value and if you know your scopes then that IMHO is the way to go… Stay with name brands. Stay away from new scopes with the budget you posted($250)
Best will require a greater budget. The Leupold VX-1 Rifle Scope gets a lot of positive reviews for in your price range
For $300, you can get the SWFA SS fixed 12x42mm. People use that scope to shoot 1200 yards because the reticle is good and the elevation/windage are as good as any scope. The glass is 'good enough' for those ranges.
