Best Nikon Digital Camera?

Are there any nikon digital cameras that are good with taking pictures of people but also good at real "photography" pics? I really want the Nikon coolplix p300 but if there's anything cheaper i would re-recommend it.

Since you didn't give us a price range, I'm going to recommend the D3x and D3s. By "real photography pictures" I'm guessing you mean the camera will produce images with a shallow depth of field?
