Best digital camera for beginner?

I'm new to this kind of thing and I have absolutely no idea where to start, I know most of you will say " it's not about the camera, it's how you use it." I'm just wondering which digital camera is the best to buy, in terms of quality.

You have two different types of camera there. The D3000 is an entry level DSLR and the P500 is a bridge camera

the D3000 has a much larger sensor as well as the capability to change lenses. When used correctly, it will be much better than any point and shoot camera.

see if you can get the D3100 instead. It is an overall much better camera.
